Absolutely! We do this for patients all the time, even with moderate to severe crowding. In moderate crowding, teeth can be slenderized using a small strip of sand paper that gives us the room to straighten and recreate a normal smile.

Even in cases of severe lower crowding, we can remove one small tooth and realign the rest, recreating a perfect smile!

For the rest of your life if we choose the right retainers and we keep on eye on things every six months. The most predictable retainers are “fixed lower retainers.”
A tiny wire is “bonded” to the backside of your 6 lower front teeth. It stays in your mouth and is always working to keep more than just your lower teeth in alignment. Since the lowers fit inside the uppers, the lower fix retainer also prevents your upper teeth from drifting backwards or side ways.
